Three Pieces for Solo Flute

Initially composed at the age of 17, these Three Pieces for Solo Flute represent Keenan’s more juvenile style. The Keenan family have often wondered whether these should perhaps be omitted from the composer’s official catalogue — a consideration Keenan himself shared.

Keenan revised these pieces (though the exact nature of the revisions are not yet clear) in 1978, had them performed during his Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) days, and later typeset them in the 1990s — all of which accords them some weight.
